Discover a leading French company, with Dominique Borrelly, its Chairman.
What is the company’s history?
I’m proud to represent the third generation of this company, which was started by my grandfather over 80 years ago, and which has gone from strength to strength, despite family and economic difficulties. Since the 1970s, the company has specialized in the design and production of spring washers.
Our first flagship product was the corrugated spring washer for preloading ball bearings, followed by many other families of geometries: diaphragm, Belleville, Ondufil™, leaf spring etc.
We respond to demanding and constantly evolving problems, from design to manufacturing.
We have a catalog, but we mainly make “made-to-measure” products.
Who are your customers and why?
Our customers, most of whom are repeat customers and consult us on all their new projects, are mainly in the space, aeronautics and high-end automotive industries, not to mention other cutting-edge industrial sectors. We meet their demanding specifications with technical, reliable and particularly innovative products, sometimes even in a hurry.
Concrete examples? For a car manufacturer, for whom we are a Tier 1 supplier, we recently had to solve a steering vibration problem identified during vehicle qualification testing.
For the nuclear industry, we redefined and manufactured parts to replace a stack of obsolete washers.
For major brands in the watchmaking and optical device industries, we develop spring solutions with a minimal footprint.
What are your challenges?
Our aim is to combine creativity and know-how, to provide technical solutions that are both realistic and innovative. The challenge of excellence is to remain competitive. This means designing high-quality, reliable and feasible products, while optimizing costs.
